Holiday Meeting Schedule and other News!
Posted by Made With Love on November 11th, 2009Well, the Holiday season is quickly approaching and it seems that personal time gets shorter and shorter during this part of the year! Because of this we will be condensing our night time meetings for November and December into one. I hope that this allows everyone time with their families and time to enjoy the true meaning of the holday season - Thanksgiving and the Birth of Jesus Christ!
Below is the schedule for our meetings up to the end of the year:
Monday, November 16th we will meet in the morning from 10 am - 12 noon in the UUMC Church Parlor
Tuesday, December 1st we will meet from 6:30 - 8:30 at Kelly’s House. Please use the contact form above to ask for directions, if you need them.
Monday, December 14th we will meet in the morning from 10 am - 12 noon in the UUMC Church Parlor
We hope that many of you will be able to work these meetings into your busy schedule! We enjoy getting together with everyone and I think that it will be a nice respite for those who need a bit of down time during the holidays!
On to other news and things of interest to the group! I recently had a chance to visit with the Knitting group at First Methodist in downtown Baton Rouge. They have a wonderful, lively bunch of ladies who meet once a week on Tuesday mornings to work on shawls and other knitting projects. I’m told there are about 45 active members in this group! They were extremely welcoming and shared many prayers, patterns, and ideas with me! I learned that every summer they work on one big project together. This year their project was shawls to keep in the back of the sanctuary for people who may get cold during the worship services. I was luckily there the day that they needed a picture taken of the whole group and their Sanctuary Shawls! You can see the picture below. Thank you again, ladies, for welcoming me into your group that Tuesday! I hope that I will be able to visit again at some point in the future. If anyone in our group would be interested in visiting their group, I’m told that they always welcome guests who want to come kint, just use the contact link above to email me for more information.

Enjoyed the pic and seeing my very dear friend, Lucile Martin,Behind the lady in red sweater, wearing a dark dress and white coat.
I will not be at the meetin on Monday, as I will be flying home from Las Vegas. Leaving early in the morning with Sally, my daughter, who has a business meeting there, and I am tagging along. Hope to come back rich!!!
Knitting a baby pink shawl (hope you are not horrified) as I thought someday a little lady would want a very feminine one. Then I want a new pattern for another, so will get it at the December meeting.
Great picture above.
